Mortal Kombat X Gamepad Review: It’s a Fatality

mkx11 PDP has released a Mortal Kombat X fight pad that is compatible with both current and past gen installments. To further clarify, the Xbox version works with both Xbox One and Xbox 360 (PC as well), while the PlayStation version works with both the PS3 and PS4. This multiplatform compatibility is pretty awesome. But this controller isn’t free from major issues. Let’s breakdown this Mortal Kombat X gamepad a bit further.

There are six face buttons as well as two shoulder buttons. The face buttons come loaded with microswitches. These are great and allow the buttons to recoil for a more responsive feel.

The D Pad is a standard cross, which in my opinion is superior to the disc D Pads. I like these types of pads better because it allows for a more precise input. When using a disk I often will hit diagonals by accident causing my character to jump when moving forward or back.

The shape of the controller is interesting as the left side is a bit longer than the right side. This allows for a better grip and hand position on the controller.

With all these positive aspects, there is a huge fatal flaw to this Mortal Kombat X gamepad.

Check out my review below. It covers all of the positives mentioned above as well as a monumental negative that makes this controller unusable for Mortal Kombat X, as well as other fighting games.
