Omen Gameplay and Commentary Killer Instinct

Omen ultra combo

Recently I have been using the character Omen in Killer Instinct. The following videos cover my first Omen experiences. These videos are live gameplays with real time reactions and commentary. For more comentaries and experiences like these, be sure to follow my stream at Twitch.tv/Jgleez.

For a quick run down of Omen, let’s just say he has a lot of strengths and weaknesses.

He is able to gain three shadow bars which is great. He also gains meter very quickly. He has the ability to shoot one, two or three random fire balls at a time. This helps with zoning tactics as well as making certain rush downs safe.

His flash kick move is great and difficult to break in shadow form since it lands so quickly. His super powered Rose-like orbs are also great for getting in on an opponent and closing down space.

His biggest weakness is the fact he has zero wake up options. This leaves Omen vulnerable and very susceptible to mix ups as well as pressure on knock down. Omen is also relatively weak in comparison to other characters. This forces an Omen user to land more combos and work harder to get the same damage output as other characters.

In my opinion his worst match ups are Spinal, Fulgore, TJ Combo, and Orchid.

Enough talking… Let’s get to it!

I hope you enjoyed these new additions to the Fighter’s Corner. Over the next few weeks I will be posting more videos in this category of the channel. I plan on doing a basic tutorial for fighting game mechanics that translate through all fighting games. If you are looking to begin competing in the fighting game community or just interested in getting better at games like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, and Street Fighter… these tutorials will be great for you!

Most Anticipated Games for 2015

best games of 2015

My taste in games might be different than many of you. That’s why this list of the most anticipated games of 2015 is so obscure. You have to remember my background. I grew up playing NES games, fighting games, and sports games. In my early teens Playstation dropped and awesome games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night molded my gaming experiences and interests.

Are you ready to get a bit weird?

Here is a video I made highlighting each game listed below. Be sure to continue reading for more details on all of these titles.

Axiom Verge

Platforms: PS4, PS Vita

Axiom Verge is a Metroidvania style game that has a retro gaming feel to it. These are my favorite types of games because of the vastness of the environments and the high difficulty. I absolutely can not wait to get my hands on this game!

Resident Evil Revelations 2

Platforms: Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita

Resident Evil has always been one of my favorite franchises. The elaborate puzzle solving and survival horror elements made this game so amazing to me. The feeling of never knowing what was around the next corner was a sensation I had never felt before while playing a video game.

Though the newer games have lost some of the luster in the franchise, I still really enjoy playing all Resident Evil titles. Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be no exception.

Street Fighter 5

Platforms: PS4, PC

The king of all fighters! Though Street Fighter is the most popular fighting franchise and was my favorite as a kid, it currently takes a back seat to Mortal Kombat. That doesn’t mean I won’t play this game though! I am really excited to get my hands on a new Street Fighter game, and can only hope it is released sooner than later.

Batman Arkham Knight

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC

The Dark Knight is at it again. I have been thoroughly impressed with all of the Arkham releases so far, so why would this title be any different. I love the simple, yet fulfilling combat system. Combine that with the awesome voice acting and story lines and you have yourself a recipe for awesome!

Mighty No. 9

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, PC, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, Vita

Mighty No. 9 looks like Mega Man. That’s because it is Mega Man…. kinda. The creator of the Mega Man series has left Capcom as Capcom has decided to drop the Mega Man series. Hence the rise of Mighty No. 9. I have been aniticpating a new Mega Man game for quite some time now, so hopefully Mega Ma… Mighty No. 9 can deliver. I can say it looks very promising so far!

Mario Maker

Platform: Wii U

Mario Maker looks really cool and would have been a dream come true when I was six years old. Finally at the age of 32, this dream comes to fruition. I have played many Mario hacks on my PC over the years, but now having the ability to modify levels with ease and share them with others is simply awesome. Who will create the best and most amazing Mario experience? Maybe you!!

2. The Legend of Zelda

Platform: Wii U

The Legend of Zelda franchise could possibly be the most epic of all. Ever since the original I have simply been in love with this game. The cool map mechanics on the Wii U controller and visuals in the game really create a unique experience. This game looks like it has a ton to offer and will be the biggest, most elaborate Hyrule world to date!

1. Mortal Kombat X

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360

Mortal Kombat is my number one most anticipated game of 2015. The blood, the gore, the combat system, the combos… need I say more?

I must.

Mortal Kombat X will be boasting a new mechanic where each character will have multiple play styles and move sets. It is difficult to tell how this will play out, but it looks as though it will give us more options and variety to match ups and game play. This is something that could revolutionize the fighting game world. I can’t wait to actually see it implemented.

FREE Madden 15 eBook: Buffalo Bills Offense

madden 15 tips free ebook offense title

The Buffalo Bills offensive playbook is a very versatile and well rounded playbook in Madden 15. This Madden 15 ebook will help you run this playbook effectively and understand how to choose plays and make adjustments to the defense. This free Madden 15 eBook breaks down many different types of sets in two types of personnel groupings. I hope you enjoy this Madden 15 guide and playbook breakdown.

The first personnel grouping will be 12 personnel (One Running Back, two Tight Ends and two Wide receivers.) This type of grouping allows for us to pass the ball effectively, while giving us enough beef to run the ball against any type of defense. This will force our opponent to come out in defenses that play both the pass and the run very well.

This concept will cut your opponents playbook down considerable on the defensive side of the ball. It will force them to run bigger sets like 3-4, 44, 43, and 46.

Keeping your opponent honest is key when playing Madden. Let’s get into the 12 personnel breakdowns.

Ace Offset

Ace Twins

Ace Close

The next personnel grouping in this Madden 15 eBook that we will take a look at is 10 personnel. This is one running back, zero tight ends and four wide receivers.

This personnel grouping is great for attacking the defense with the pass, while still having decent run options.

Supplemental Videos

China Special Money Play

These videos are supplemental formations and plays that can help you change your game up. They veer outside the staple plays of this offense to keep your opponent on their toes.

The first video is a break down of the Pistol Strong Slot. This formation is great for both passing and running the ball.

This video is actually posted on Shopmaster’s YouTube channel. He was awesome enough to allow me to make a guest posting on his channel and I am very appreciative of that. Shopmaster does some amazing things in the Madden community, and to be a part of that is something special to me. If you don’t already, be sure to subscribe to Shopmaster’s YouTube channel and check out Game Changers Radio Tuesday nights at 9:00 pm Eastern Standard time.

Madden 15 Money Play: China Special

madden 15 money playThe play China Special has been one of my favorites in Madden for many years. This money play is super simple to run and allows for easy gains and easy reads.

The best part about this play is the fact that the runs out of this formation are awesome. Utilizing this Madden 15 Money play will keep your opponent on their toes.

I will emphasize the need to practice throwing the tight end route on the first break. This is a route that is extremely effective but can be picked off of thrown incorrectly. To throw this pass lead the Tight end to the outside and bullet pass.

This will put the tight end in perfect position to catch the ball.

Enough talking… let’s get to the video.

There you have it, The China Special!

Madden 15 Nano Blitz: Quarters FZ 3 Sky

madden 15 nano blitz

This quarters nano blitz is great for preserving a lead and mixing it in with coverage. It works against both shot gun and pistol sets. There are a few adjustments to be made depending on the formation, so please watch the entire video for these details.

The great thing about this blitz set up is the fact it can be ran out of any quarters set. Also there is a Cover 2 defense that compliments this blitz very well. Gotta love that!

Mix both of these plays in to have success on defense and preserve your lead!

Madden 15: The Defensive Mindset

madden 15 tips stop dragsThis Madden 15 tip video is based around stopping the 5WR trio, but it covers so much more. Madden is about adjustments and that is exactly what this video covers. It doesn’t give you one single play, it gives you a game plan. This is how you should be thinking while playing defense in Madden 15.

Some highlights of the video…

  • How to slow down drags
  • How to user effectively
  • How to adjust coverage to stop certain patterns
  • How to bait people into throwing user picks
  • How to adjust to an opponent
  • How to cover while getting pressure
  • Let’s just say this video is jam packed with awesomeness.

Stopping PA End Around | Madden 15 Defensive Tips

The PA End Around is one of the most popular plays in Madden 15. The corner ball is at a perfect angle and most defenses do not play that route well. The RB cannot be defended in man and most times the flat defender gets sucked inside.

Needless to say, this play can be a really big headache.

But luckily, you have me in your corner!

Check out the video below for details on defending the PA End Around.

Defending Slot Verticals | Madden 15 Tips Ask Gleez

rest repo

In this episode of “Ask Gleez” we look into defending tight and slot verticals in Madden 15. This question comes from a Gaming With Gleez subscriber named RestRepo56. His major concern is the fact that when he base aligns his corners move to the outside and when he blitzes the middle is vacated. I feel his points are excellent and that this is a great question.

In this Madden 15 tip video below, go over multiple ways to defend the slot vertical and I cover ways to combat the fact that your corners move to the outside once you base align.

I hope this video has helped you become a better defensive player in Madden 15. If you like this tip, be sure to subscribe to my FREE Madden 15 Tips newsletter below and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

Madden 15 Mini Scheme | Oakland Raiders

madden 15 mini scheme oakland raidersThe Oakland Raiders book is a fantastic book with a lot of options, particularly in the run and screen game.  The reason why I like books that have great runs and great screens is because they are low risk.  When you play good players in Madden, you will not be slinging the rock every play and be successful… especially in this year’s game.

So the formation we are going to dive into is the Pistol Wing Trips.  This formation packs a major punch and is pretty versatile.  Check out the video below and the set ups for details on how to run this offensive mini scheme.

Runs: Counter, Dive, Stretch

Screen: HB Screen

Set Up
RB: Drag
Y: Block
A: Flat to the left

Pass: Strong Flood
