Gaming has been a part of my life since I was 6 years old. It all started with an experience at my cousin Eric’s house. I remember feeling puzzled and confused as I watched him hook up his NES. It seemed so foreign to me but as soon as I put the controller in my hands I knew that gaming was something I was born to do. It was on that day I played Super Mario Bros. for the first time and I instantly fell in love with the NES.
I went on to play all the classics for the system including Zelda, Contra, Metroid, Castlevania, and more.
My gaming adventures continued into my teenage years with games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct. I began scouring the local arcades trying to find the best competition and played in my first fighting game tournament at the early age of 13.
Arcades weren’t like they are now. Now they are desolate places filled with pinball and other recreational games, but in the 80’s and early 90’s those places were booming.
I can remember times when 20-30 people were huddled around a Street Fighter cabinet. You could see quarters stacked along the top edge of the machine. This marked each player’s territory as the next competitor. I was demolishing people twice my age with ease and began to realize the only thing I liked more than gaming was competition.
In the video below, I discuss some of my earliest experiences in the arcades. I also discuss a little side hustle my friends and I had to keep the quarters rolling at such a young age. This kind of stuff really takes me back!
In my late high school years and during college, I began focusing on John Madden Football. I would begin playing in Madden tournaments in the year 2003. I also used Madden as a way to earn side money in college.
Through playing Madden I have had the opportunity to meet awesome people and travel up and down the East Coast. Some of the venues I have played in include Hines Field, Lincoln Financial Field, and Terminal 5 in New York City.
I have done very well over the years winning multiple $500-$1,000 tournaments. I have placed in the top 16 and 32 at majors multiple times, but unfortunately I have yet to win a big money tournament for Madden.
What Does My YouTube Channel Offer?
I have rekindled my love for fighting games and compete competitively in Mortal Kombat X. I post tournament footage, tips and online matches for your viewing pleasure.
I also post Madden tips and use my tournament experience to help you grow as a player.
I dabble in other games as well such as Street Fighter, Gears of War, Killer Instinct, Resident Evil and am looking forward to developing more retro gaming content for the channel.
I love retro gaming and even have some experience in speedrunning. I have the 3rd best glitchless run in the world for Castlevania 2 and have some decent times for Zelda 2.
I encourage you to join me on my gaming adventures and grow with me as a person on my channel Gaming With Gleez.

Outside of Gaming
I have a passion for fitness and exercise and transfer this passion to others through teaching high school health and physical education. I have a degree in health and exercise science and it is a tool that I use every single day.
Football is another one of my passions. In high school I played both offensive and defensive line and played offensive line in college. I have experience coaching at both the high school and college levels and have a deep understanding for X’s and O’s. My cerebral take on the game has helped me become a better Madden player and allows me to clearly convey principles, thoughts and ideas to all of you through my Madden tip videos.
