Most Anticipated Games for 2015

best games of 2015

My taste in games might be different than many of you. That’s why this list of the most anticipated games of 2015 is so obscure. You have to remember my background. I grew up playing NES games, fighting games, and sports games. In my early teens Playstation dropped and awesome games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night molded my gaming experiences and interests.

Are you ready to get a bit weird?

Here is a video I made highlighting each game listed below. Be sure to continue reading for more details on all of these titles.

Axiom Verge

Platforms: PS4, PS Vita

Axiom Verge is a Metroidvania style game that has a retro gaming feel to it. These are my favorite types of games because of the vastness of the environments and the high difficulty. I absolutely can not wait to get my hands on this game!

Resident Evil Revelations 2

Platforms: Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita

Resident Evil has always been one of my favorite franchises. The elaborate puzzle solving and survival horror elements made this game so amazing to me. The feeling of never knowing what was around the next corner was a sensation I had never felt before while playing a video game.

Though the newer games have lost some of the luster in the franchise, I still really enjoy playing all Resident Evil titles. Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be no exception.

Street Fighter 5

Platforms: PS4, PC

The king of all fighters! Though Street Fighter is the most popular fighting franchise and was my favorite as a kid, it currently takes a back seat to Mortal Kombat. That doesn’t mean I won’t play this game though! I am really excited to get my hands on a new Street Fighter game, and can only hope it is released sooner than later.

Batman Arkham Knight

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC

The Dark Knight is at it again. I have been thoroughly impressed with all of the Arkham releases so far, so why would this title be any different. I love the simple, yet fulfilling combat system. Combine that with the awesome voice acting and story lines and you have yourself a recipe for awesome!

Mighty No. 9

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, PC, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, Vita

Mighty No. 9 looks like Mega Man. That’s because it is Mega Man…. kinda. The creator of the Mega Man series has left Capcom as Capcom has decided to drop the Mega Man series. Hence the rise of Mighty No. 9. I have been aniticpating a new Mega Man game for quite some time now, so hopefully Mega Ma… Mighty No. 9 can deliver. I can say it looks very promising so far!

Mario Maker

Platform: Wii U

Mario Maker looks really cool and would have been a dream come true when I was six years old. Finally at the age of 32, this dream comes to fruition. I have played many Mario hacks on my PC over the years, but now having the ability to modify levels with ease and share them with others is simply awesome. Who will create the best and most amazing Mario experience? Maybe you!!

2. The Legend of Zelda

Platform: Wii U

The Legend of Zelda franchise could possibly be the most epic of all. Ever since the original I have simply been in love with this game. The cool map mechanics on the Wii U controller and visuals in the game really create a unique experience. This game looks like it has a ton to offer and will be the biggest, most elaborate Hyrule world to date!

1. Mortal Kombat X

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360

Mortal Kombat is my number one most anticipated game of 2015. The blood, the gore, the combat system, the combos… need I say more?

I must.

Mortal Kombat X will be boasting a new mechanic where each character will have multiple play styles and move sets. It is difficult to tell how this will play out, but it looks as though it will give us more options and variety to match ups and game play. This is something that could revolutionize the fighting game world. I can’t wait to actually see it implemented.
